Three local bands will perform a free acoustic gig in-store at Dr. Martens Newcastle this Friday.

The store, located on Grainger Street, will see the three local punk bands take to the shop floor for an intimate set featuring some of their latest tracks.

The first of the bands to perform, Tough Tits, is a three-piece girl group who will kick off the event at 5pm. Dubbed a ‘shouty, synthy, punk band’, the girls have been together since 2015 and release their first record, titled ‘Hairless’, in June of this year.

The second set of the night will be played by alternative-rock quartet, Canyons. Formed in the summer of 2014, the band released their first official single in July last year.

Topping off the night will be five-piece Shields who debuted their first album ‘How Can We Fix This?’ back in February 2016.

Dr. Martens is inviting Docs’ fans to visit the store for the gig, offering a 20% discount throughout the day and a free gift with purchase.rsz_dr_martens_newcastle_event_pos
