The festive season gets into full swing with the opening of the first door of advent calendars, but if you’ve been busy buying presents and have forgotten to get the traditional treats for your loved ones then help is at hand.

Newcastle parents, partners and friends who wake up on December 1st without an advent calendar for their loved ones can get them delivered right to their door within one or two hours of ordering on the same day, thanks to Amazon’s Prime Now mobile app.

With last minute delivery sorted, the trickiest task is picking which calendars to order. For research purposes, we’ve tried and tested lots of them. Here’s our top picks.

Lindt Advent Calendar (£5.00)

The official Lindt Advent Calendar includes 24 of the most iconic Lindt Christmas novelties. An extra special advent calendar for loved ones.

Galaxy Milk Chocolate Advent Calendar (£1.50)

An Advent Calendar that will make the journey to Christmas as silky and smooth as the milk chocolate behind every door.

Playmobil Christmas on the Farm Advent Calendar with Santa Playset (£19.99)

An ideal sugar free way to count down to Christmas. Containing accessories and figures to help create a festive farm scene, every day holds a surprise behind each door.

Play-Doh Advent Calendar (£10.49)

Count down to Christmas, Play-Doh style! Does Door 5 hide a snowflake stamper? Is there a tree mold behind Door 1? With a different surprise gift for each day leading up to the big day, there’s no knowing what festive creations will be created. 5 cans of Play-Doh are included.

The Christmas treats are just some of the 15,000 items available to Prime customers in Newcastle on Amazon’s Prime Now mobile app.

Local Prime members in selected postcodes can choose same-day, two-hour delivery at no additional cost or get delivery within one of ordering for £6.99. Delivery is available seven days a week, morning until night.

All Prime members can immediately download the Prime Now app, available on iOS and Android devices, to find eligible delivery postcodes and request notification when the service is available in their area. Customers can also visit to discover eligible delivery postcodes in their area.
