Newcastle United prepared for Tuesday’s return to competitive action with a 2-1 friendly win over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday afternoon.
Goals either side of half time from Sean Longstaff and Chris Wood sealed the win for Eddie Howe’s side, with Matt Targett ’s own goal proving insignificant as United warmed up for the midweek Carabao Cup visit of Bournemouth with a victory at St. James’ Park.
