New venue for Under-21s' Southampton trip

Newcastle United Under-21s' Premier League 2 trip to Southampton on Friday, 13th January has a new venue.

The Division Two encounter was due to take place at the Snows Stadium, home of Southern League Division One North side AFC Totton, with kick-off set at 7pm (GMT).

However, the fixture will now be staged at the Saints' Staplewood Training Centre, with the date and kick-off time remaining the same.

Newcastle's second-string currently occupy eighth place in Division Two, three points adrift of the play-off spots, while Southampton sit in second spot, eight points ahead of United's youngsters.

The two sides last met in October as Newcastle claimed a 3-2 win against their Saints counterparts as goals from Dylan Stephenson, Isaac Westendorf and Joe White secured a thrilling victory at Whitley Park.
