Joelinton hits landmark in Villa victory
When Joelinton scored Newcastle United's third goal of the game in the weekend's win against Aston Villa, it was not only Brazilian's first strike of the current season but also the Magpies' 1,400th goal in the Premier League.
A Liam O'Brien goal in August 1993 was the first, Rob Lee notched the 100th against Chelsea just over a year later and Gary Speed hit the 500th in November 2001.
Demba Ba's first of a brace against Everton in September 2012 was United's 1,000th Premier League goal, while Jonjo Shelvey had the distinction of scoring the club's 1,200th and Miguel Almirón - who also got Newcastle's fourth against the Villans for goal number 1,401 - the 1,300th.
