Langley: We are together as a club

Becky Langley says that Newcastle United Women's dressing room photograph following Sunday's 1-0 win over Barnsley Women only highlights the connectivity between all of the teams at Newcastle United Football Club.
The Lady Magpies posted the image on Twitter on Sunday evening, after Langley's side - helped by an injury-time goal from striker Katie Barker - moved joint-top in the FA Women's National League Division One North with the triumph against the South Yorkshire side at Druid Park.
"One of the main values of the whole football club is togetherness," Langley told nufc.co.uk after the vital victory.
"It's so important that we are showing that as a women's team as well. We need to be showing that togetherness and I think it was very apparent in our match against Barnsley."
Despite dominating proceedings, the Lady Magpies looked set to be heading for a stalemate against a stern Barnsley side who had frustrated the United attackers.
However, the deadlock was finally broken deep into added time, when Charlotte Potts found Barker in behind and the striker lofted the ball into the back of the net.
Of the jubilant celebrations at Druid Park, Langley said: "It was incredible. I couldn't hide my emotions.
"It was brilliant to celebrate with Katie, who wanted to get off the mark in the league so quickly and it hadn't happened.
"She got the goal, the winning goal, and it was such a relief for everybody. It was fantastic to get three points and I think now that gives Katie the confidence to kick on."
The Newcastle Women boss felt her side was good value for the three points, praising the way the Lady Magpies kept their concentration despite being on top.
"I'm really proud of our defensive resilience," she said. "Emma Wallis and Charlotte Potts were unbelievable. They nullified every Barnsley attack. We had to stay switched on throughout and made some outstanding last-ditch tackles and recovery runs, so I'm really pleased.
"I think we thoroughly deserved the win. Barnsley were resolute and tough to break down, but they didn't register a shot on target all game and I'm very happy we stemmed their threat.
"We have to pick up points against teams wherever they are in the league, and I'm really pleased we came out from that result on the right side."
