"It's something special" - Robson praises Newcastle United Women's togetherness

"It is something special to be a part of such a together squad," she said. "Everyone at the club has the same aspirations which create a passionate environment."

Having been pegged back following Georgia Gibson's well-taken opener, the Lady Magpies rallied in the second half and Beth Guy's penalty ensured Langley's team took the three points and maintained their lead at the top of FA Women's National League Division One North.

"It's always an amazing feeling to contribute to a win," said winger Robson. "It was an exceptionally good result - we knew that if we kept up the hard work, the three points were ours."

The Newcastle Women squad now has fierce competition for places, with Robson competing with a handful of other tricky midfielders for a spot in Langley's starting XI.

But the former Durham Cestria attacker believes that the added challenge is a positive one. She said: "Having competition within the squad is great as it means that every training session and game is of a high tempo, and that means we are constantly improving as individuals and as a team."

And Robson believes that she owes a lot to her manager for her own personal development.

"Becky has a great knowledge of the game and it shows in how our team play," she said. "She also creates a positive and encouraging atmosphere, which always helps on a matchday."

Following Sunday's crucial win, Robson outlined how the Lady Magpies hope to continue their development.

She said: "We are looking to make sure that we are putting games to bed and continuing to grow our goal difference. We don't want to get complacent in any game, and we concentrate on taking one game at a time.

"We are prepared for the challenge and just want to show each other, the coaching staff, our fans and the owners what we can achieve."

Last week it was announced that Newcastle United Women will play their final game of the season against Barnsley Women at St. James' Park on Sunday, 1st May and Robson is looking forward to the huge occasion.

"The team have dreamt of this for seasons now," she said. "As a child, you dream of playing in a stadium, let alone St. James' Park.

"This is a huge step for the club and is a step forward for not only Newcastle Women but also the women's game. It's growing, thriving, and is only going to get better. We are forever grateful for this opportunity, and we cannot thank those who are making it possible enough."
