Team news: Strong side selected for Leicester Carabao Cup clash
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has rung the changes for Tuesday night's Carabao Cup quarter-final, with Kieran Trippier, Bruno Guimarães and Callum Wilson among those restored to the starting line-up for the last-eight visit of Leicester City (8pm kick-off).
United were dumped out of the FA Cup by Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday but with a place in the semi-final up for grabs at St. James' Park, head coach Howe has opted to bring back a host of his key players for the clash with the Foxes, with Nick Pope, Fabian Schär and Miguel Almirón also brought into the side.
Trippier skippers the Magpies side from right back, with Schär and Sven Botman resuming their partnership in central defence and Dan Burn returning at left back.
In midfield, Bruno Guimarães anchors the side with Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock either side of him, while Almirón and Joelinton start on the right and left flanks respectively.
That leaves number nine Wilson, who was rested for the weekend trip to Hillsborough, to lead the line against Brendan Rodgers' men.
There are plenty of offensive options for Howe to call upon from the sidelines, with Allan Saint-Maximin named on the bench after illness ruled him out on Saturday while Alexander Isak and Chris Wood provide backup at centre forward.
Jacob Murphy and Elliot Anderson are also among the substitutes, with Javier Manquillo, Jamaal Lascelles, Matt Ritchie and Karl Darlow also included.
