Teenage midfielder Joe White joined Newcastle's Academy in 2016, progressing through the Magpies' youth ranks before making his first-team debut in a pre-season draw at Rotherham United in July 2021.

The Cumbrian youngster, who has represented England at under-18 level, was then handed his first senior start during Newcastle's behind-closed-doors practice match at Burnley.

The central midfielder was part of Newcastle United under-18s' run to the 2020/21 FA Youth Cup quarter-finals, scoring against Leeds United during a 4-1 win in round four.

He spent part of the 2021/22 season on loan with Hartlepool United.
