Match officials confirmed for Magpies' visit of Man City

Jarred Gillett will be the referee for Newcastle United's Premier League visit of current champions Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

Sunday, 21st August
Newcastle United vs Manchester City
St. James' Park
Kick-off 4.30pm BST
Ticket details

This will be the second game Gillett has officiated this term after overseeing Leicester City's 2-2 draw against Brentford on the opening weekend of the 2022/23 campaign, showing no cards at the King Power Stadium.

The Australian official, born in Queensland, made history last season after becoming the first overseas referee to take charge of a Premier League fixture during Newcastle's 1-1 draw away at Watford in September 2021.

The 35-year-old whistler, who was promoted to the Select Group in June 2021, was also the man in the middle for the Magpies' 2-1 home win against Leicester in April 2022 and booked four players that day, including Emil Krafth and Bruno Guimarães.
