Match officials confirmed for final day fixture
Craig Pawson will be the referee for Newcastle United's Premier League trip to Burnley on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 4pm BST).
The Magpies face the Clarets at Turf Moor in their final game of the 2021/22 season, aiming to equal their highest Premier League points tally since the 2013/14 campaign, and this will be the third time Pawson has officiated a fixture involving Newcastle this term.
The 43-year-old was the man in the middle for Newcastle's 1-1 home draw against Manchester United in December and handed out six yellow cards, booking Emil Krafth, Javier Manquillo and Joelinton.
The Sheffield-born official also took charge of Newcastle's 1-0 win over Aston Villa and issued seven yellow cards at St. James' Park, booking Dan Burn, Jonjo Shelvey and Joelinton.
Pawson oversaw Newcastle's 1-0 defeat at Everton in March, booking Emil Krafth as well as sending off Toffees midfielder Allan following a VAR review for a late challenge on Allan Saint-Maximin.
The experienced whistler, who was promoted to the Select Group of Referees in 2013, has handed out the most Premier League bookings of any referee this term, showing a total of 108 yellow cards along with two red cards.
On Sunday afternoon, Pawson will be assisted by Eddie Smart and Dan Robathan while Jeremy Simpson will be the fourth official.
Jarred Gillett will be the Video Assistant Referee and will be aided by James Mainwaring.
