Pawson on patrol for Man United visit
Craig Pawson will be the referee for Newcastle United's Premier League clash against Manchester United on Saturday night (kick-off 8pm BST).
Following the international break, Steve Bruce's side return to top-flight action against the Red Devils at St. James' Park and this will be Pawson's first game taking charge of a game involving the Magpies this term.
The Sheffield-born official, who made his Premier League bow during Newcastle's 1-0 defeat at Swansea City in 2013, was the man in the middle for three of United's league fixtures last term.
The 41-year-old notably sent off Isaac Hayden in a 5-0 defeat to Leicester City in September 2019 as well as awarding two penalties to Watford, both converted by Troy Deeney, in a 2-1 loss at Vicarage Road back in July.
In the four matches he has officiated so far this term, across the Premier League, Europa League and Championship, Pawson has handed out nine yellow cards but is yet to show a red.
On Saturday, Pawson - put on the FIFA International Referees List in 2015 - will be assisted by Richard West and Adrian Holmes while Oliver Langford will be the fourth official. Lee Mason is the VAR and will be aided by Andy Halliday.
