Frank Clark
Years at United: 1962-1975
Frank Clark is Newcastle United’s fourth-highest appearance holder of all time, playing 457 league and cup games for the club.
Born in Rowlands Gill, County Durham, Clark joined the Magpies from Crook Town in October 1962 and would remain at St. James’ Park until 1975.
An accomplished, dependable left-back, Clark became a first team regular during the 1964/65 season as Newcastle United lifted the Second Division title.
Four years later, in 1969, Clark would taste European glory for the first - but not the last - time in his long career as the Magpies lifted the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.
He reached the FA Cup final with the club in 1974 before moving to Nottingham Forest a year later, where he would go on to become a league and European Cup winner.
