David Craig

Years at United: 1960 - 1978

One of the club's greatest ever full-backs, David Craig racked up an incredible 435 appearances during 18 years at St. James' Park.

The Northern Irishman came through the ranks as a youngster on Tyneside and lifted the FA Youth Cup in 1962 courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

After making his breakthrough into the senior side, Craig would spend 14 years in the first team squad - including a successful 1968/69 campaign which saw the Magpies achieving European glory as Fairs Cup winners.

A regular at international level during the 1970s, Craig was unfortunate to miss out on two cup final appearances during the decade - missing the 1974 FA Cup Final and 1976 League Cup Final due to injury.

Craig was deservedly inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2019.
