Macaulay Gillesphey played the full 90 minutes as Carlisle United continued their unbeaten start to their League Two campaign with a 1-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers at Brunton Park.

Gillesphey, 20, almost created an opener for Shaun Miller early on as the Cumbrians began well, and it was Miller who eventually bagged the winner after the break as Keith Curle's side moved up to sixth in the table.

he looks at the stats and sees that I’m putting it in – then that’s all that matters to me."

"As long as the gaffer knows -

In the Championship, Adam Armstrong played the full 90 minutes but couldn't prevent Barnsley from slipping to a 2-0 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion, as a Glenn Murray double earned the Seagulls the win at the Amex.

Fellow forward Ivan Toney endured a torrid afternoon in League One, as he was dismissed with eight minutes remaining in Shrewsbury Town's 1-1 draw at AFC Wimbledon.

The 20-year-old started for the Shrews and missed a headed chance after 10 minutes with the hosts leading 1-0, before picking up his second yellow card late on for a challenge on Dons goalkeeper James Shea.

Two United loanees could have come up against each other as Bolton Wanderers hosted Bradford City at the Macron Stadium. Sammy Ameobi started for Bolton, playing 70 minutes before being replaced by Zak Clough, but Haris Vuckic didn't make it off the bench for the Bantams in the 0-0 draw.

And full back Jamie Sterry was forced to miss out on Coventry City's 2-1 defeat at Gillingham after he was stretchered off with a head injury in the Sky Blues' 0-0 draw with Oldham Athletic last weekend.

Back in League Two, defender Kyle Cameron made his Newport County debut as he started for the Exiles at Rodney Parade, but he couldn't stop them from suffering a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Cambridge United.

Cameron played the full game for Warren Feeney's side, but goals from Uche Ikpeazu and Luke Berry won it for the U's, cancelling Rhys Healey's early opener.

Winger Alex Gilliead, meanwhile, made a late substitute appearance for Luton Town as they moved up to third with a 3-1 win over Doncaster Rovers at Kenilworth Road.

The 20-year-old came on in place of Cameron McGeehan, who scored twice for the hosts, with 89 minutes gone as the Hatters recovered from a goal down to take all three points.

And forward Tom Heardman is still waiting for his Hartlepool United debut, after he was an unused substitute in Pools' 1-1 draw at Plymouth Argyle, in which Jake Jervis tucked away an 84th-minute penalty to earn a point after Nathan Thomas' opener.

And in the National League North, teenage goalkeeper Paul Woolston helped 10-man Darlington to a 4-1 home victory over Stalybridge Celtic, which moved Martin Gray's men into third place in the table. Woolston played the full 90 minutes, and was only beaten by Andy Owens' consolation at Heritage Park.

In Holland's Eredivisie, Siem de Jong made an 84th-minute substitute appearance for PSV Eindhoven as they beat Excelsior 3-1 away from home, as his brother - and former Magpies loanee - Luuk de Jong found the target.

Elder brother Siem entered the fray as a replacement for Andres Guardado late on, and will now hope to feature in PSV's Champions League clash with FC Rostov in midweek.

Goalkeeper Tim Krul, meanwhile, wasn't involved in Ajax's 5-1 home win over PEC Zwolle on Saturday as he continues his recovery from a serious knee injury.

In France, Florian Thauvin played 77 minutes of Marseille's 2-1 home win over Nantes on Sunday night before being replaced by Saif-Eddine Khaoui, as goals from Clinton N'Jie and Bafetimbi Gomis won it for Les Phoceens.

However, Henri Saivet wasn't involved in Saint-Etienne's 3-1 win over Lille on Sunday afternoon.

La Liga side Osasuna were beaten 3-1 at Villarreal, with French forward Emmanuel Riviere playing the full 90 minutes for Los Rojillos, but unable to help his side salvage a point.

And defender Kevin Mbabu was an unused substitute in BSC Young Boys' 0-0 draw at Sion in the Swiss Super League.
