Teenage midfielder Elliot Anderson joined the Magpies at the age of eight and signed a new long-term contract on his 18th birthday.
A representative of Scotland at under-19 level, Anderson made his senior debut for his boyhood club at the age of 18 in the Magpies' Emirates FA Cup tie at Arsenal before making his Premier League bow nine days later against the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.
He penned his first professional deal in November 2019 - just after his 17th birthday - and is the grandson of former Newcastle United winger Geoff Allen, who played for the Magpies during the 1960s and was part of the squad which famously won the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1969.
Hailing from Whitley Bay, the highly-rated youngster scored six times for United's under-23s during the 2019/20 campaign and currently has six goals so far this season, including an impressive brace against League Two outfit Bolton Wanderers in the 2020/21 Papa John's Trophy.
He made his first team debut in an Emirates FA Cup tie at Arsenal in January 2021, before being handed his Premier League bow as a late substitute at the same ground a few days later.
After spending the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan with Bristol Rovers, helping them to win promotion to League One with some outstanding displays, he has now returned to Tyneside where he will be hoping to impress Eddie Howe in pre-season.
