One of the most exciting attacking players in the club's recent history, Saint-Maximin joined Newcastle from OGC Nice in August 2019 on a six-year deal.
A natural winger who can also play as a forward, Saint-Maximin came through the ranks at Saint-Étienne before joining fellow Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in 2015.
During his time at the Stade Louis II, he enjoyed two loan spells, the first of which took him to Germany with Bundesliga side Hannover 96 in the 2015/16 campaign.
After another temporary stint with SC Bastia in his homeland, he made the permanent switch from Les Monégasques to Nice in the summer of 2017.
And it was at the Allianz Riviera where his burgeoning talent came to the fore over the next two seasons, as he became one of the most exciting creative players in Europe.
Soon after arriving on Tynesdie, Saint-Maximin – who is renowned for his speed and skill, as well as his trademark headband – became a fan favourite at St. James' Park, where he has dazzled supporters with some stunning showings in the number ten shirt.
