Crystal Palace penalty shoot-out win in pictures

Nick Pope produced three terrific saves from the spot as Newcastle United booked their place in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

Crystal Palace had held the Magpies over 90 tense minutes at St. James' Park, meaning penalties were required to separate the sides under the lights.

And that's when Pope took centre stage, keeping out efforts from Luka Milivojevic, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Malcolm Ebiowei to send Eddie Howe's men through in front of what was a record home crowd in the competition for United.

Club photographer Serena Taylor was there to bring nufc.co.uk this gallery from a memorable shoot-out success.
