A Josh Donaldson leveller rescued a point for Newcastle United Under-18s against Everton on Saturday.
Graeme Carrick's youngsters went into the contest on the back of a tricky three-game winless run in the league, with their last victory coming away at Blackburn Rovers at the end of August.
And they fell behind at Everton, too, when Coby Ebere found the target for the Toffees.
But Donaldson's strike on the stroke of half time saw United go in level at the break, and that's the way it finished thanks to the Magpies man's fourth goal in his last three games.
Next up is a Tyne-Wear derby at home to Sunderland in the Premier League Cup on Tuesday night (7pm kick-off).
