Newcastle United Under-18s recorded a comfortable victory over Wolves on Saturday, as goals from Ben Parkinson, Anthony Munda, Johnny Emerson and Sean Neave lifted them to within three points of a place in the Under-18 Premier League North section's top four.
Parkinson got Graeme Carrick's youngsters on their way with a neat finish after just six minutes, with Munda making it two before the half hour mark at Little Benton.
Fabian Reynolds pulled one back before the break but Emerson's strike just four minutes after the restart restored United's two-goal cushion, which was extended further in the dying minutes when Neave came off the bench to add a fourth and make sure of the points.
The result leaves the Magpies tenth in a condensed table, though they are now just three points shy of fourth-placed Leeds United ahead of their next league outing at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday (kick-off 11am GMT).
