Boxing Day win at Leicester in pictures

Newcastle United won a Boxing Day game for the first time since 2013 - and finished the day in their highest league position for 20 years.

The Magpies climbed to second in the Premier League with their sixth straight victory, and the three points were more or less in the bag as early as the seventh minute.

Chris Wood had already converted a third-minute penalty before incisive play between Kieran Trippier, Bruno Guimarães and Miguel Almirón resulted in the latter cooly slotting home his ninth goal of the campaign.

Joelinton headed home a third shortly after the half-hour mark and Eddie Howe's side comfortably managed the second half as they made a fantastic return to top-flight action following the World Cup break.

It was a well-deserved festive gift for the 3,300 travelling United fans - oh what fun it is to see Newcastle win away - and club photographer Serena Taylor brought nufc.co.uk this gallery from the King Power Stadium.
