Loan watch: Unbelievable, Jeff!

Written by Dan King

How Newcastle United's loan men fared over the weekend, with a brace for one player and two debuts...

Jeff Hendrick

The midfielder scored twice against Queens Park Rangers - where he spent time on loan last season - on Saturday, but the Royals had to settle for a point in the end.

Hendrick, who had already come close to a goal on two occasions, opened the scoring in the 28th minute at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, driving home from the edge of the area, before doubling his tally with a close-range header for his third strike of the season.

But Tyler Roberts - himself on loan from Leeds - netted twice in the second half to earn QPR a 2-2 draw.

Garang Kuol

On Friday night, the Australia international teenager made his bow for Hearts in a 1-0 home win over St. Mirren.

Kuol started on the bench, having only completed his loan move the previous day, but came on for the final 13 minutes.

He set up Stephen Humphrys in the 89th minute but the forward shot wide; however, Hearts - third in the Scottish Premier League - had already done enough to claim the points and make it a winning start for 18-year-old Kuol.

Hearts boss Robbie Neilson told his club's official website: "You can see his speed of movement and his decision-making is top level."

Joe White

Cumbrian youngster White also came off the bench to make his debut for League One Exeter on Saturday.

He was introduced in the 61st minute at the other St. James' Park with his new team a goal down to Forest Green Rovers, but made an eye-catching cameo and helped the Grecians to level thanks to Jevani Brown's goal.

And Exeter first team manager, and former Newcastle player, Gary Caldwell told his club's official website: "He's a fantastic talent, the way he carries the ball, his left foot, the way he found space in between lines.

"I thought for a debut he was sensational in what he did for the team. He still has things that he needs to learn, he needs to be better at, but going forward he's a player with real quality and we're delighted to have him." White picked up a yellow card as well as creating a chance for Alex Hartridge, which went wide.

Lucas De Bolle

Hamilton beat Morton 1-0 in the Scottish Championship with De Bolle playing the full game.

The Accies stayed bottom despite the victory, but have been able to welcome De Bolle back to the fold in recent weeks after his first few months were affected by concussion issues. This was the 20-year-old midfielder's sixth appearance of the season.

Dan Langley

The big goalkeeper made his second appearance for Spennymoor Town and helped his team beat Bradford (Park Avenue) 3-2 in the Vanarama National League North.

It means the Moors, who are 13th, have now collected four points from the two games Langley has played.
